BY KRISTIN GRONINGER, Junior

BLYTHEWOOD - After 4th period many students sit with their friends in the corridor to eat, usually unhealthy, lunches.

Lunch is important to help students stay focused and concentrated during school hours. Eating a lunch with good ingredients is important to stay healthy, avoid disease, and prevent preponderance.

“When you are planning the meals, make sure that you including the four main food groups. You have grains, you have fruits and vegetables, you have proteins,” said Susan Watson, a registered dietitian, in an interview with the Global News.

To pack a lunch include these four groups. Variety the vegetables and the fruits, in order that the lunch doesn't become boring and that the lunch have all vitamins, which the body need to stay healthy. To ensure the lunch stay healthy, should always whole grain been chosen because they have a better impact on the body.

Another good option is to choose water rather than juice. Most juices contain a multitude of sugars which takes away their nutritional values.

“Have them in the fridge ready to go so it is just grab and go in the morning,” said Watson as a helpful tip. That is a way to get sure that the lunch is always healthy on school and need less time for packing the lunch.

A healthy lunch is for example a box with whole grain pasta with pepper and “My favorite healthy snack for school is apple with peanut butter” said Tansy Gibler.
