Advice for BHS freshmen

BLYTHEWOOD -- Blythewood High School Bengals are very welcoming. Students and faculty have wonderful advice for current or upcoming freshmen.

¨Your freshman year of high school is the beginning of a four-year journey to college, and it's something that needs to be taken seriously,¨said Ivywise Newsletter.

According to IvyWise Newsletter, high school is a big adjustment that holds opportunities for freshmen students including new clubs & organizations.

¨Start high school like you want to finish it, because we can not make up for wasted time,¨ Counselor Felicia Daniels said.

According to Daniels, preparing students agenda, having their homework on time, a calendar for due dates, and focusing on time management is very important.

¨Keeping up with your classes as you pass them, and staying on task with your work is important because freshman year is when you start your GPA,¨Daniels said.

¨Freshmen year is a very humbling experience,¨sophomore Markel Samuel said. Samuel feels the same about time management he also shared that being prepared is everything because everything happens fast.

¨Freshman should participate in an extracurricular activity, so their high school experience is fun,” freshman Morgan Kelly said. Kelly suggested that having an extracurricular activity can help you adapt to the school over the summer.
